Since I'm stuck with that I usually end up spot focusing and trying to get the picture quick enough, or anticipating where they will be and spot focus on something of similar distance and half-shutter it. I'm thinking a manual ring has to be a step ahead of that. Since I can't really afford an E-P1 anyway though, I guess it's all dreaming at this point. I thought about doing a wallpaper too. I suppose this would make the 17mm useless except for its small size? Are you guys getting the zoom or the 17mm kit? I'm still wishy washy ... probably which ever silver lens comes out first. The zoom seems to have good optical quality and would be versatile for outdoor shooting. I'm curious to know how sharp the Voigtländer 40 is wide open. The Konica isn't sharp enough wide open, but very nice from f/2.8 and up. Manual focus on the E-3 works fairly well, but of course I haven't tried the E-P1 yet. It's probably not going to be ideal for moving subjects like kids.
