(FT 4) olympus m4/3 with improved liveview and no swivel LCD
Received an email today from someone who confirms that there is no EVF, just an LCD screen without swivel option.
He told me he has been impressed by the improved liveview. We asked him for more infos over the liveview but he gave no more informations.
I really do not know what he means when he says “improved liveview” ![]()
How do you imagine an improved liveview???

(FT4) HOT! Panasonic GF2 with Built-in EVF?
(FT3) Olympus E-460 coming soon? DxO Optics pro software leak
Ok, thanks, next time you see your source, ask him how big the camera was, the shape, the colour, is it heavy, can you put it in your shirt pocket, ??? such things
I suppose Live view should by automatically be “improved” if you compare it with any of Olympus DSLR cameras. But the question is if it’s improved in comparison with the Panasonic G1.
What I would like is a dedicated button on the back of the camera that activates focus magnification and the IS at the same time. This should be a momentary-on button, i.e. one that deactivates when you release it.
No swivel screen? No evf? Talk about a step backwards…
a m4/3 without Evf,or swivel LCD at more 1000$….what a pity !!!!!
No swivel LCD, no EVF, no built-in flash, not WR sealed – what exactly does this camera HAVE that makes it worth $1,000 ???
I think soon we seen concept of new system. In rumor about patent similar info whith other rumors about MFT olympus.
My english – bad, sorry.

That would be nice already. Mind if I ask for the moon too? Touchscreen AF! I want that button to focus/enlarge THIS very spot on the screen that I’m touching! While you are at it, keep it inside a smaller window in the screen so I can still see the whole picture to recompose.
Thanks! I’ll take two!

This is brilliant. I’ve been thinking of exactly this feature too. It would make the focus enlargement feature much more practical and useful. And it would not require any additional hardware, thus cheap to implement.
I’ve seen the MF aid implemented in that way on a few digicams (sans the touch part). From limited use it did seem a bit more practical than zooming the whole screen. Hopefully there aren’t any patent issues.
