I politely disagree with your comment that m4/3 is not good enough for serious photography. I just completed a shoot for a major publication – 2 features, one being a fashion spread and while I had my Canon 5D and a Contax 645 rig, half of the pictures that were selected for the features were shot with a GF1 and the Olympus 17mm 2.8 lens (yes, the one people like to trash).

If your definition of “serious” means huge wall sized prints, than perhaps you are right, but professionals like myself are finding the platform to present viable photographic tools.

a new fuji might easily outperform E-P1 and GF-1 in terms of high iso quality, with adaptive pixel binning and different sensor modes, when they keep the pixel count low to about 8-10 mpixel. that’s no competion to leica at the moment in terms of image qualität, but price also play a major role in successfully introducing new gear…. i hope to see a new member in the m43 world soon, positioned above gh1 in terms of image qualität and build, no need no be optimized for video.

I don’t know why people would be happy about this. This Fuji 4/3 camera can not possibly have the image quality of the Sx-Series. 4/3 sensor too small for serious photography. Heck, even though I love it, the S5’s sensor was not large enough nor did it have enough MP.

If Fujifilm really release a m4/3 camera with SuperCCD, goodbye Leica (M type body) and jealous to all those early C mount collectors, movie lenses’ price will be sky high (10 times or even higher than 3 years ago) on eBxx………………..

Fuji has some of the best sensor technology, the S5 has no real noise even at 1600. This sounds great!

THIS is what I’ve been waiting for, I hope so so much for this… Ever since fuji joined the 4/3 consortium… I’ve been waiting for the successor to the S5 for 4/3, and this is even better if it’s an m4/3! I hope I hope I hope!
