Every new product was a milestone. The PENs, OMs, pure digital E-System, first digital PEN… Nowadays, who’s-the-winner-game costs Olympus lot of money on developing new GF-1 patch called *E-P2 which means less money and time for E-System development. I appreciate Olympus for its own personality and it is not for huge masses like Canon or Nikon is. Olympus must keeps Maitani’s legacy to remained a company with own name.

Well, I think we just have to wait and see what Olympus has prepared to its users this time… But I hope that Oly will decide it’s better to be on your own path not trying to be LIKE someone els or better.
When Nikon and Canon (the two giants) were at war Olympus was sitting quite in the corner making its own invention and did great – live view, built in sabilization, flipping LCD… and NO stupid race “who will get to the finish line first”. NOW we have some friends like Panasonic and Samsung so our Oly stands as high as it can to show who is THE BOSS among the smallest and sorry, I don’t get the point here why Olympus is any different from Canon nowadays? It seems that after Yoshihisa Maitani passed away something is different… It’s like beeing in a small family shop and feeling love that was inserted creating it, compared to a multydollar huge cold blooded company.

P.S. I hope that Olympus will start listening to us…again

I thought that E-P2 will be a professional model like E-3, but it looks like a GF-1 marketing fix (and that is where it ends). I agree with Edgaras it’s too soon for new top model what E-P1’s successor should be. Don’t get me wrong E-P1 is good camera but I expected something different from E-P2, lets wait for official announcement. Olympus would rather listen to people like was Y. Maintani (original PEN and OM series developer) and less marketing division, that’s how I see it. And let’s not forget about classic E-System.
