Why I will not buy an EP-1.
I have been following the rumors and waiting for the announcement. Sadly, the camera is impractical for boomers like me who do not have perfect eyes. It is uncomfortable and irritating to tip my head back at 45 degrees so that my progressive glasses (fancy bi-focals) enable me to focus on the LCD. I need a flip-up LCD or (ideally) an electronic view finder.
It seems compact cameras are designed by 30 year old engineers for other 30 year olds with perfect eyes.
Regards,
Allen Woolfrey
P.S. I really like the site. One day a manufacturer will release a compact that works for me, and I’ll see it here first.
I perfectly understand you. One question, is the viewfinder something usable for you?
Bye
The optical viewfinder is not useful to me because (1) it’s not that useful with the zoom lens, and (2) such viewfinders rarely are accurate enough for good composition.
I would prefer an electronic viewfinder, but a flip-up LCD would allow chest-level composition.
Cheers, Al.
Allen the electronic viewfinder will definitely be made by Olympus! So don’t give up! I will let you know as soon as possible when the EVF will be released.
Many thanks for reading my website
