In 1956, a loaded logging train was running behind schedule. The conductor pushed it twice the speed limit around a corner, sending seven CN boxcars off track. They were jammed in a rock cut, blocking the entire pass.
A couple of D8 Cats were brought down to the site.The cars were pried out & left in the forest where they still live. Now it’s a destination hike, MTB trail & authorized #graffiti zone.
