The same source who gave me the first E-M1 4K firmware upgrade rumor also shared another rumor: Olympus is working on two new Cine Prime lens. But he isn’t sure these will be shown at Photokina.
And he shared also some more 4K details:
The OMD E-M1 record in 24-25-30p 4K with IBIS without any problem for 29min limit. The good news is that, the 4K firmware from the beta test was well improved and it would be officially announced during the Photokina and released.
UPDATE: I still have sources saying they don’t know about 4K on the 2.0 firmware they tested or saw. So either this is a super secret Olympus addition or Olympus will decide to not add the 4K feature on the new firmware. This is one of the weirdest rumors I have ever worked on. I am glad this will be over in a few days :)
