PcMag published the G9II review and concluded:
Panasonic has a reputation for making fantastic mirrorless cameras for video, but it hasn’t always delivered the all-around performance hybrid creators demand. The G9 II is a clear step forward from the original G9. Its picture quality, subject recognition autofocus, and ergonomics are on par with competitors, and its video toolkit is downright impressive. We’re also fans of the large library of quality Micro Four Thirds lenses from first- and third-party manufacturers. The Canon EOS R7 is still our favorite for action, sports, and wildlife pursuits and the OM-1 stays truer to the Micro Four Thirds ethos with a slimmer body and stronger computational photography features, but the G9 II’s balanced, do-it-all approach earns it our Editors’ Choice award in this premium crop-sensor segment.
