Focus Numerique interviewed Haruo Ogawa from Olympus. And here are just some of the key info he spilled out:
More Megapixels? For most of our clients 16MP is sufficient. But in certain situations, this is not enough.
The issue with Full Frame: With a 24×36 sensor, the optics are still very impressive and heavy enough. We believe that at Olympus housings must be compact, but the optic must also be more consistency.
New lenses: We will focus on very bright optical lenses.
What needs to be improved with the EVF: We have to go below 6 milliseconds for the human eye can not be bothered. If we can improve the response time, then the electronic viewfinder will be better than the optical viewfinder.
Autofocus: In the near future, we will further improve this hybrid (AF) system.
4K: In the near future, we will try to have a camera with a video mode 4K.
I am particularly excited to learn more about the fast primes!
