As noticed by Dpreview 16 years ago Panasonic announced their first MFT camera. It was the G1. The Key Features were:
- 12.1 Megapixels
- Micro Four Thirds Lens System
- 3″ Free-angle LCD Display & EVF
- Full-time Live View with Contrast AF
- Compact Camera Body & Lenses
- Self Cleaning Sensor
- High Sensitivity (ISO 3200)
- Intelligent Auto Mode
- Creative Color Modes
- HDTV Output
16 years after we Panasonic is still in the MFT business and launched great cameras like G9II and GH7. The question is: Where will the market be in 16 years’ time? Will smartphones have destroyed the camera market for good? Or will AI conquer the world and kill us all? :)
