So far looking to be quite awesome. The version we played with initially focused quickly, offers punchy colors, feels great, and begs to be attached to your camera all day

(FT5) Olympus 40-150mm PRO coming at Photokina. The other two new PRO lenses will not :(

Share

.
I got the following info from two different sources: The new Olympus 40-150mm PRO zoom will certainly be released at Photokina in September. They also confirmed the 7-14mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4.0 will not hit the stores this year. Olympus will certainly display them at Photokina but that’s it. You will have time til Spring 2015 to save the money for those two PRO lenses :)

One more thing: There will be surprises from Olympus at Photokina. But more about that soon on 43rumors…

What future Olympus PRO lens are you considering to buy?

Jared: https://www.google.com/maps/views/profile/117565688403001302622 Has some of the most spectacular panoramas I’ve seen. I was looking to see what equipment he uses and found some older panoramas with exif data still: https://plus.google.com/u/1/photos/117565688403001302622/albums/5947739153343402321/5947739152308789202?e This seems to use a 43rds olympus E-410 and the olympus 8mm f3.5 fisheye. Pretty stunning for not only a tiny sensor, but a really old sensor as well…Also, I see some newer panoramas mentioning olympus, so I think a lot of his panoramas are taken with 43rds gear.

Rare findings: Fastest (buyable) camera lens in the world for sale on eBay.

Share

[shoplink 45410 ebay][/shoplink]

It happens only few times in the year to find this very rare lens. And it happens even less times to find it in top conditions, with all caps and already a T-mount adapter included. It’s the Canon 50mm f/0.75 you can find right now on [shoplink 45410 ebay]eBay US (Click here)[/shoplink]. Unlike some other f/.075 lenses like Carl Zeiss (f/0.7 used by Stanley Kubrick), [shoplink 45411 ebay]De Oude Delft[/shoplink], [shoplink 45412 ebay]Rayxar[/shoplink] this is a proper camera lens (the others are X-ray lenses or in case of the one used by Kubrick a limited edition NASA lens). The lens is 2/3 stops faster than the Voigtlander 0.95 MFT lens series. This is the fastest lens you can use on your Micro Four Thirds camera!

I found some image samples taken on Canon cameras on Flickr, Rakuten. But no one seems to have ever used this lens on a MFT camera…

Panasonic GH4 test by Emmanuel Pampuri.

Share

Ballade de Nuit à Hong Kong en 4k avec le Panasonic GH4 from Emmanuel Pampuri on Vimeo.

43rumors reader Emmanuel is one of the few lucky people having a GH4 for testing! He just sent me this:

I am the founder of « Les Machineurs » a rental house and post-production facility based in Paris. I started as a photographer in 1991 and I am directing for TV since 1993. I am crazy about cameras and I like to share my point of view on my blog I made for french speaking people (www.pampuri.net) this is maybe my first post in english, my apologize if my english is not good.

I had the chance since the GH2 to be a beta tester for Panasonic. And I am very honored to do that because I like this products and Panasonic Camera team is listening to people like me to improve the quality of their cameras.
When I just had the GH4 in my hands 2 weeks ago it was a very good surprise. All the good things in the GH3 are still here, the very good ergonomic form factor and this compact size I really appreciate a lot. And a lot of improvement also. At first, the picture quality in the EVF is now very sharp and you can use it for focussing manually with 2,3MP it’s amazing and you can now use peaking !
The new 4K video is insane, because of no down converting, and there is also a Cinelike D mode what I liked so much on the Varicam. For still photography the new shutter have a very quiet and sexy noise and it’s incredible fast. I have to wait about new Lightroom version to see how is the raw but Jpeg are better than GH3.
For video codecs, the 100mb 4K H264 4:2:0 looks good and the 1080p 200mb All-I mode is also very good. The dynamic range is also better than GH3.
we are in Beta 0.4c and there is some little bugs but nothing really bad to says about this new camera, I already love it and for me this is the most mature M43 hybrid camera ever built. I liked the Olympus OMD-EM1 very much for stills but there is a huge step for Olympus to improve the video part of this camera. And Panasonic GH4 still photography quality is now growing up. If we could merge the two products, that would be great.
For me GH4 is the most exciting versatile hybrid camera to shoot videos and photos I had in my hands. Of course you can have better quality, This picture quality regarding to the price is incredible.
I shot this video in Hong Kong in street night public lighting conditions and you can download the 4K file from vimeo (Click here) to see the quality. Or watching it on YouTube (Click here).
I will do some other footage in few days, stay tuned !

(Fool Days Joke) Panasonic will restructure camera division. Micro Four Thirds project will be killed and focus now on Full Frame!

Share

A manager discussion about the Panasonic MFT future.

This is the fool news:

Two trusted sources sent me an information about a deep change inside the Panasonic structure. One of them also sent me the audio on top confirming the bad news: Panasonic will completely stop the Micro Four Thirds cameras development and the GH4 will be the last MFT product ever made by Panasonic.

The decision has been taken because reforms and changes necessary due to huge losses in the imaging division. Digital cameras division staff will be significantly reduced with all engineers working on new consumer camcorders and m43 cameras abandoning their work and moving to mobile division. And the next surprise is that the main focus now will be on High End cameras with larger Full Frame sensors!

UPDATE: Sorry, you ave been fooled by April 1 fools day rumors. Hope you didn’t get a heart attack :)
