TOM SHOT 360 releases the new Ultralight Panohead for panorama photography, for taking spherical panorama photos in as few as 4 to 6 shots.

The new design stays true to its goal to provide a portable solution for mirrorless cameras. At 110g and 128mm high, it is easily one of the most lightweight and compact panoheads available, compared to other heads that are geared towards large DSLR cameras.

The new design has a click stop rotator, a 6082-T6 aluminum base, stainless steel detent disk with 12 or 24 clicks, and the most distinguishing feature, a 3D printed polyamide nylon upper ring. Additional features include a friction lock and bubble level.

Currently there are models available to fit the following lenses, with plans to expand the list in the future:
Samyang 8mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens (Sony NEX E-mount, Samsung NX, Fuji X)
Samyang 7.5mm MFT Fisheye Lens (Micro 4/3, Sony NEX E-mount – adapter required)
Yasuhara Madoka 180 Fisheye Lens (for Sony NEX E-mount)
The Samyang 7.5mm MFT Fisheye Lens is compatible with Micro 4/3 cameras.

(FT5) Surprise: The 12-32mm not only is the smallest but also the best standard “cheap” kit zoom!

On Thursday (October 17) Panasonic will unveil their new little gem, the Panasonic Gm1 ultracompact camera which has about the same size nd thickness as the LF1 compact camera. It will become the smallest MFT camera ever made.

The astonishing thing is that I have been told by trusted sources that the standard 12-32mm kit zoom not only is as thin as the 14mm pancake…it is also the highest built and image quality of all standard kit zooms on the mirrorless market! With standard zoom I mean the cheaper kit zooms like the 14-42mm from Olympus or Panasonic or the Sony 16-50 and so on. The 12-32mm is made of all metal!

I repeat it. This is Panasonic answer to the Sony RX100. Same size, bigger sensor, and interchangeable mount! What do you want more? Oh yeas, maybe a compact f/1.8 Zeiss zoom would be nice :)

EU deals: Already first price drop on the PRO 12-40mm lens.

There are a couple of new EU deals to report and at least one of them is a quite surprising deal. The still to be shipped Olympus 12-40mm PRO lens got a 142 Euro price drop in Spain (Click here). I don’t know if you can order the lens from outside Spain. If the answer is yeas this is really a great deal.

Another great deal is the 150 Euro off on the E-M5 with 12-50mm kit at Fotomundus (via DL) and the 80 Euro off on the 60mm macro again at Fotomundus (via DL).

Scarab Labs has released the new version of its popular raw conversion software.

Zadar, Croatia, October 7th, 2013: Scarab Labs has released Scarab Darkroom 2.0 – the advanced version of its fast and easy-to-use digital camera raw converter for Windows. Compared to the earlier free versions, it also contains a number of new features like noise filtering, chromatic aberration correction, split toning, Adobe RGB color space support, and more… The software is now available for purchase on the Scarab Labs website for $49.
