how do we get our rumors?

Hi!

A lot of people asked us how we get our rumors, and how realistic they are. So we are ready to explain you our daily work.

1) What we do first is to check our email. We don’t get a lot of rumors, just few mails per week. Most of them are send by anonymous people. Our BIG sources write us 1-2 times per month. They gave us information about the Olympus E-450 and the micro four thirds camera. Where we lack in comparison with nikonrumors and canonrumors is in image leaks. Only one anonymous sources send us an image one time, it is a E-5 image. I hope the guy who send us the image can give us more information soon :)

We want to encourage people to send us every information! It helps us to get forward! And of course we can keep you anonymous.

2) A hard part of the job is to check the 20-25 website where we can catch important information. The list includes japanese, chinese, korean, german, english forums and more… That takes more or less 45 minutes reading work per day. You want to know some of this webites?

3) Writing the post. This is the hardest part for us because of the language. But a friendly guy recently joined the 43team and he will rewrite our text in a very fine and correct english. He will start his job in 10 days. So please be patient ;)

(FT 5) New Novoflex adapter coming for Panasonic and Olympus

Mr. Hiesinger from Novoflex confirmed the launch of three new lens adpater for Olympus and Pansonic micro four thirds cameras.

In May we will see:

  • MFT/MIN-AF (Minolta AF / Sony)
  • MFT/NIK (Nikon)
  • MFT/PENT (Pentax)

In March Novoflex launched follwing adapter for 119 Euro each:

  • MFT/CAN (Canon FD)
  • MFT/CO (M 42)
  • MFT/CONT (Contax/Yashica)
  • MFT/LER (Leica R)
  • MFT/MIN (Minolta MD)

Yesterday the new Olympus E-3 firmware came out. Version 1.4 improves the autofocus performance. You can download the firmware here: http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/firm/e1/

There is another Olympus SP-590UZ review from the british website “trusted review“.

Nothing new from the Panasonic front.

I feel we are in the calm before the storm. And the storm will arrive soon ;)

The 43rumors team is working on a redesign. We are focusing our goals and following the wishes our visitors.

There will be no FT 5 rumor this sunday, we will put our energy in redoing the website :)

(FT 2) Panasonic Lumix LX5 for third quarter 2010 ?

We had a small talk with a japanese source who claims to work for Panasonic. We are going to see if he will become one of our trusted sources. So for now this is just a (FT 2) rumor

1) “Yes, Panasonic is working o a compact m4/3 camera but this camera is not a LX3 competitor“. The Lx3 will always be smaller and cheaper than a compact micro four thirds camera from Panasonic. So a Lx3 successor will definitely come.

2) The name could be “LX5”. The “4” number is unlucky to a japanese.

3) Sensor: Panasonic is trying to get new ways with the sensor like Fuji is doing. They already have a functionally HDR-Sensor, a Sensor who can capture a High dynamic range. If this is going to be implemeted in the LX3 successor is undefined but possible. Why should Pansonic do this? “Because improvement on megapixel basis are not so simple, more than 10 Megapixel on a small sensor are difficoult to manage in terms of image quality” .To know more about possible new Panasonic sensor read here: https://43rumors.com/missing-panasonicsensor/

3) People is happy with the zoom range and lens quality. There will be only small improvement here.

4) 2010 will definitely be the year of OLED screens. So I can safely say there is 90% of chance to see OLED screen on the LX5.

5) Panasonic is hardly working to improve the AVCHD lite quality. This will probably find his use inside the LX5

6) GPS tagging, Wifi connection….no plans yet.

7) And what about an auto lens cover? “Probably they will make it”. Oh yes WE HOPE SO!!!
