So here we are. One day before expected (from our sources) Olympus announced the E-450. We told you they would announce the camera in April (our sources told us the first April). Olympus choose to anticipate the annoucment because the first april is fools days in some countries. Not the best choice for an announcement…nobody would believe them! ;)

We were completely right on the main features, no video, no body IS, art filter, same resolution as the “old” E-420. In general we told you that this camera will be very similar to the Olympus E-420. You just have to add ART-filter ;)

They anticipated the announcement by ONE day because tomorrow is fools day. Our sources were right or not? Do you believe us now?

So here we are. We asked dealers and there is a shortcoming for the “old” E-420. They confimed us a new digital SLR from Olympus will be announced. We looked in forums, got emails, googled all the time.

Finally we got the security, the new Olympus E-450 will be announced in April.

And there is more, we give you a list of specs which are certain, and a list of specs which are just probable.

CERTAIN (FT 4):

1) The Olympus 450 will be very similar sized and designed like the old Olympus e-420

2) It will have Art-filter

PROBABLY (FT 3):

3) It will NOT have video capabilities

4) It will NOT have body IS (which surprises me a lot)

5) The same ammount of Megapixel

I’m waiting for more news about the upcoming Olympus E-450.I still don’t know when exactly the digital camera will be announced. Meanwhile I have got one more information. I asked one source if after the E-450 we will see another DSLR or if it will finally be the turn of a micro four thirds camera. He told me the next camera after the Olympus E-450 will definitely be a micro four thirds camera!!!

The new DSLR will be the E-420 successor the Olympus E-450
